ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The Ostriches were first exhibited in 2016 at The Parc Floral de Paris, France, and is the result of my collaborative work with various partners especially but not exclusively the Zoo de Vincennes in Paris. The sculptures have been conceptualized to be exhibited as a group or individually in urban settings such as the streets of Mers Les Bains in 2020, France, or parks and gardens or nature. Bringing the animal world into our modern world is to remind us that our roots are in nature. It is also an attempt to break down the alienating barriers humans have put up through the process of urbanisation. Made with recycled metal.
