This figurative sculpture has been created from one 7" vinyl music record - nothing has been added to the original circular material, nor removed. Mounted on black painted stone with pink perspex accent at base. Drawing contemporary comparisons to Pompeii with the use of stone, and the vinyl with a resemblance of solidified lava. The stone base is 9 x 10 x 15cm. Seona's fine art practice lies in her interest in the human body, as well geology (she resides near James Hutton's Unconformity - Siccar Point - of historical geological importance), through contrasting materials and shapes.

Sculptures created from whole vinyl music records... nothing added and nothing removed from the original material. The abstract, figurative forms are organic in their conception, with the vinyl having a life of its own upon heating. I pair the final sculptures with modern, geometric materials such as perspex and acrylic - the hard solids contrasting with the solidified, liquid lava appearance of the vinyl. The figures recline, dance and become caught in a movement that was previously evoked from the playing of the records themselves.
