Stephanie Else specialises in making high quality contemporary glass designs using a variety of kiln-forming techniques. Working with a combination of both transparent and opaque glass she adds metals, precious metal leaf, foils and lustres to produce a stunning range of both decorative and functional works of art and jewellery. Inspired by the glass itself, by nature and the world around her, she combines a vibrant use of colour with surface texture and pattern within the glass to create beautifully tactile pieces whilst exploiting the natural translucent and jewel like qualities it possesses. As a self-taught artist, Stephanie has worked and played with glass for many years. She never tires of experimenting and exploring new techniques, and her passion for her craft shows in her constantly evolving designs. "˜I enjoy the unpredictability of my work - never knowing exactly what a finished piece will look like when it comes out of the kiln, and the fact that no two pieces can ever be the same'. As well as exhibiting her work in galleries, Stephanie has also completed numerous commissions and interior design projects and offers a bespoke service working closely with clients to tailor make glass to their specific needs. She is a member of the Contemporary Glass Society, and has been running her studio - Glass in Fusion - for over 12 years.
