About The Artwork

Inspired by Mendel's pea experiments (Mendel was the father of genetics), I took two glazes and had them duke it out. Starting at the top with the "pure" colors. The second row, Palladium is the dominant glaze. The third and fourth rows the glazes mix with interesting results. This piece is a personal reflection of my experience growing up. My mother has blonde hair and blue eyes and my father was Japanese. So the Mendel model was the answer to why I have dark hair and eyes. photo by Steven Miller
