My Pegasus was inspired by Italian Renaissance equestrian art. I hope viewers will feel the majesty and energy in my work. My piece was hand shaped out of copper sheets and then coated with molten brass. Having been trained in the 60's, Seymor Lipton, Saul Baizerman and above all Theodore Roszak who I worked for gave me a path to follow. I chose this material and process because I love working with fire to create my art directly and not having to go through a series of molds to arrive at a final piece.

I've been sculpting my whole life. My first show was at a small museum in NYC, the Riverside Museum in 1962. I showed a series of welded iron pieces which I am calling my Homage to Spain. Since my first show I've worked with many materials: terracotta, brass, bronze, marble, limestone and glass. For a while I had a small foundry in my studio where I cast bronze figures working from dancer models.
