As an Austrian-Chilean visual artist based in Madrid, I navigate between cultural identities to create work that transcends traditional boundaries. My practice revolves around the concept of time as an artistic material—each piece represents a moment within a lifelong creative continuum. Sustainability drives my artistic approach. I transform discarded materials into contemporary expressions, believing that recycled elements carry embedded memories and histories. My toolkit extends beyond conventional art supplies to include unexpected mediums: toothbrushes, shoes, food substances, and once, even my own blood—each chosen for their communicative potential rather than conventional utility. This environmental consciousness isn't merely practical but philosophical. By repurposing materials, images, and experiences, my work examines our relationship with consumption, memory, and temporality. I'm particularly fascinated by traces—the marks left by time and usage that reveal hidden narratives. My artistic philosophy centers on engaging with our immediate surroundings—both material and experiential. These daily encounters become the raw ingredients for a practice that questions, documents, and transforms. Mother of two, my parenting experience further informs my perspective on creation, transformation, and the passage of time.
