ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Title : 'Portal' This piece has a few unique aspects that make it a next step in the series of circular sculptures that I've been working on over the last year. Several copper rods continue the arc of the circle, connecting into the wood parts. I've broken a number of the ends of the wood off, leaving them rough and naturally snapped. This is a response to machine made art, I'm keen to set my work away from that. I work the whole process by hand. The background also radiates out in colour and circle. Going from the centre in a deep Phthalo blue then slowly lightening to the outer edge. Subtle lines and circles intersect also on the background. Made from birch plywood and copper rods. Painted in acrylic. This piece measures: Height: 29 inches (74cm) Width: 33 inches (83cm) Depth: 1.4 inch (3.5cm) I have installed a recessed keyhole slot on the back. The piece is ready to hang with just one screw in a wall. The keyhole hanging method also allows the piece to hang flush and secure to the wall. I have signed and dated the artwork on the back. *SHIPPING* All items are shipped with a tracking number. This tracking number keeps you informed all the way from sender to receiver.

Vince is a London born, Bath city based artist who's work offers an alternative to the conventional plane and shape of framed paintings by bringing his sculptural wall art to attention the viewer. He creates artworks that focus on the interaction of colours, shape and depth. The composition and palette choices are influenced heavily by his teenage years spent as a graffiti artist. The evolution of this, post-graffiti genre, is evident in his work by the way he carefully composes sculptures of spacial balance making use of geometric and abstract forms. Vince's skillset is based in fine woodworking that has been passed down through generations of Bauhaus orientated artisans in his family. The discovery of artists such as Paul Klee, Joan Miro and Wassily Kandinsky urged him to introduce colour to his sculptures. His artworks can be found in both private and corporate collections worldwide. The Bath Times have run features on his work over a number of publications. His pieces are constructed from premium birch ply. They are brush painted in artists quality acrylic paint.
