Benoist Van Borren

About the Artist

Benoist Van Borren

France

Benoist Van Borren is a skilled minimalist sculptor.
He masters the art of cast concrete, bringing to life this rough, dense material and its monolithic blocks.
Each of these blocks presents us with an enigma to decipher. They are the results of abstract mathematics and geometric games, guided by an indiscernable golden number, fruits from the imagination of an architect with an artists soul.
Caskets from a subversive subconscious, which question, and stimulate our contemplation and observations.
Everything is order and hieratic beauty in this silent gallery.
Benoist’s dense and massive blocks witness the intensity of his fascination for a complex art in his conception, and skilled refinement of its appearance.
