ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This my latest stained glass sculpture. To date I've usually picked the "sculpture" category because my work doesn't fit in any other category available in SaatchiArt. Stained Glass is normally a panel mounted in someway with a frame of some sort. This I think is a true "stained glass sculpture". It is a piece of stained glass built around, or on a 3/8ths inch (5mm) marine grade stainless steel rod that goes the whole length. It is versatile. Being weatherproof it could be put anywhere in the garden, or indoors in a plant pot. The translucent, rainbow, coloured glass has a texture on one side and is smooth on the other. When not in sunlight, light reflects off the texture, as can bee seen in the pictures. The stained glass measures 2.75 inches (7cm) wide and 22 inches (56cm) tall, the stainless steel extends a further 12 inches (30 cm).
