I have always thought of these two animal figures as a couple in the way they relate to each other. They came about through a variation of some canine-like figures I had been doing and they took on a totally different attitude with the upright posture.

The surface has a smooth, waxed finish and they are in the naked raku process, meaning they do not have the typical raku glaze. The clay surface has been burnished to a satin feel. The taller animal is 15.5" x 6" x 4" and the smaller is 14.25" x 4" x 4".

If you want to ask about purchasing just one, feel free to inquire. Thanks

I knew at a early age that art was really at my core. It came out in drawing mostly, but as a shy kid, the attention I got from it when I received feedback was what fed me and gave me that much needed confidence that I lacked. I struggled with career decisions when I got to that age where we are all expected to decide and I took countless aptitude tests to figure it out. The results were always the same....do something creative. I went on to get a degree in fine art, but was still hesitant to commit to it as a career choice where I could truly be expressive. For a brief time I did clay work part time and found it inspiring but other things took over and I put it away. My other work experience has included years in woodworking, graphic design, and photography. Living in the beautiful mountains of western North Carolina offers endless inspiration to fuel my passions in both clay and photography. More work can be viewed at so feel free to browse and take a look.
