About The Artwork

Playing with form and application is part of the creative process that expands our imagination. Inspired by earth's natural elements, in combination with the fiery magical process of the Raku firing techniques that conjures the lustrous metallic, and smokey finish that delivers a dramatic visual experience. Raku No. 36 A bivalve vessel hand built with coils and hand dipped in copper matte glaze. Intentionally left out in the rain for a textural decay not imposed by my hand but from nature. An exploration and experimental series of hand made objects using the various elemental weather conditions of Mastic Beach used to enhance the creation of each piece.
