Horse Hair is a special technique where horse hair is used to decorate the surface. These tiny little bowls are individually thrown from a smooth white porcelain. Once dry, the pieces are bisque fired to make them strong enough to handle. They receive several hand painted coats of terra sigillata, and are then fast fired in raku kiln. When the kiln temperature reaches about 1400 F, I quickly pull the hot, glowing pieces from the kiln with long tongs, and place them on a non-flammable surface (such as a piece of kiln shelf) and the selected hairs are draped onto pieces. They sear onto surface's and leave localized carbon markings. When pieces cooled I just brushed away any burnt remnants and applied the micro-crystalline wax polish to the surface to denote all lines. Dimensions: Largest Bowl is 3″H, 7″D Smallest Bowl is 1″H, 2 1/2″D I appreciate everyone’s business very much. With your purchase, you support me, a self-employed artist who is lucky enough to be doing what I love because of people like you. Also allow me to be a stay-home mom, so our whole family thanks you as well! For those who wants to see backstage life and be first to check new ceramics straight from the kiln, welcome to my Instagram account .

Natalya Sevastyanova is a contemporary ceramic artist based in Los Angeles. Raised amidst the vast landscapes of the Ural Mountains in Russia, her surroundings have always been a source of inspiration. Beginning her artistic journey as a muralist and animator, Natalya furthered her education with an M.F.A. in Architecture Design from the Academy of Architecture and Arts in Yekaterinburg, Russia and Santa Monica College, CA. After spending several years in these fields, Natalya felt a strong pull towards working with tactile mediums. Since 2013, clay has been her chosen medium, allowing her to bring the essence of nature's wildness into the homes of her clients. Natalya's portfolio has evolved over time, moving from pottery tableware to teapot ceremony sets, and she now focuses on creating wall sculpture installations. Her artwork has been sold internationally and exhibited in art galleries, residential, and commercial spaces across Los Angeles and various states in the U.S. under the name SevaCeramics. Currently, Natalya Sevastyanova operates from her private studio, where she dedicates her time to creating ceramic arts.
