The materials used for this piece were all reclaimed from a demolished residence in Ireland.
What I wanted to do was to take various pieces (wood, copper and slate) and construct a harmonious piece that incorporated all the materials in one solid piece, just as they were when the building was still standing. I continually sanded this piece to reveal a beautiful grain, then polished and clear lacquered it. I then inserted a small bit of old polished copper into the side and finished it off by mounting it on a slate base

Born in Dublin, Ireland. I like to use an array of found and reclaimed wood, metal and any other materials to create my pieces and turn what would have been discarded items into something that can be enjoyed and admired for years to come. I enjoy using materials that come from condemned and demolished houses and machinery parts because when reused in art these materials become timeless and do not have an expiry date.
