About The Artwork
My work is about exploring what we feel and representing it in a visual language of geometric forms. Inspired by Bridget Riley, Ellsworth Kelly and Rothko (among others). The form is to invoke the feeling of what doubt feels like when it comes to one's ambitions and goals. It's about overcoming that feeling and realizing it's an organic feeling that is natural, common and conquerable. I paint on cut PVC and back paint the work to create a glowing effect. Much of what we present outward is a mask, or a black and white version of ourselves, often with our energies hidden behind. The piece is mounted 3/4" from wall using a French cleat.
