About The Artwork

The sculpture is made of walnut wood. One part is like a shelter, another part penetrate it. I' m always interested in the specfic qualities and characters of the trees. So a walnut inside of its fruit has a hard shell which will be penetrated by the germ. But I 've found the shape intuitive and this thought came after the work was finished. It's a very hard, but beautyful wood. It's fixed on a steel plate.

First I wanted to become a scientist but than I studied fine arts. I'm working as a sculpor and painter but sometimes there are also land-art projects. I'm teaching at a small artschool for young people at Donaueschingen. My artworks seems to be abstract, but there is a inspirition from nature. I'm often on the way observing their colors and shapes Also mathematics and music plays an important role. Sometimes I use wood and stones to make improvised music.
