Bronze, cast and black patinated Marble Edition of 7 plus 1AP 17 H x 37.2 W x 13.3 cm (8.0 kg) The sculpture conveys the symbols of sorrow, grief, and compassion. It is expressed in the search for plastic integration between the portrayed human figure and the subject-matter and results in a dimensional sign that only partially preserves anthropomorphism. The powerful contrast between the warm rounded contours and the cold cutaway can be compared to a sudden awakening of the long sleeping consciousness.
