This 3D piece is about making and juxtoposition. Influenced by Dada and early modern art, it takes two very different textured objects, a piece of bacon and an empty steel nitrous oxide canister, and connects them through an act of brutality; that of nailing. To finalise its place in the world and make it a piece of art it is mounted on a wooden plinth and titled. The whole sculpture is coated in thick rough resin to give it permanence yet keep its organic quality.

Most recently Stephen's work has been featured in "And Now For The Good News (works from the Annette & Peter Nobel Art Collection)", at the Pera Museum, Turkey. Born in 1962 Stephen is a child of post war popular culture. His creativity began in '67 when his father set up a photographic darkroom in a cupboard under the stairs. There they made primitive b&w pictures, and Stephen hasn't stopped creating since. His work has been collected by clients around the world, and he likes to think his work gives pleasure, entertains and creates discussion.
