"Sometimes Art Can Be A Pain In The Ass" is an old metal chair frame bearing the titles of arts works which have all, at some time, and for various reasons, caused controversy in the art world. Titles include Duchamp "Fountain" , Balthus "The Guitar Lesson", Michelangelo "The Last Judgement", Marcus Harvey "Myra" and Emin "My Bed". The piece is meant to be a talking point and aims to arouse debate. Not only have the titles been a pain in the ass for the art establishment, but the piece itself would be a literal pain in the ass if sat on.

Born in 1962 Stephen is a child of post war popular culture. His creativity began in '67 when his father set up a photographic darkroom in a cupboard under the stairs. There they made primitive b&w pictures, and Stephen hasn't stopped creating since. His work has been collected by Mark Bezos and many others around the world, and he likes to think his work gives pleasure, entertains and creates discussion.
