ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This piece began with a sketch of some lines, just a playful exercise in pen movement. The lines morphed into spears, then, while cataloging a number of photos, a shot of a rose-pink gibbous moon taken from my porch hove into view. The piece bubbled up whole from my unsubconscious. The moon shot was printed on an aluminum panel and cut to shape. The background blue was taken from a different sky photo and printed on another aluminum panel. The spears were formed and fashioned from pine 1 x 1's, then 16 coats of varnish were applied (spears they are very smooth). The whole thing was then screwed, glued and velcro'd together. Mounting hardware is supplied.
