About The Artwork
With this self portrait am questioning the emotional aspects of the disorder as well as raising awareness. The metal octagonal tubes are purely held in place by tension. When standing in front one can faintly see a distorted self reflection in the stainless steel. This represents the continuous battle a Macular Degeneration sufferer has with coming to terms with the progress of the disease but also using it as a positive inspiration to create art.
