ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This artwork is part of the series 'Transcendence' that are gateways to higher dimensions. It uses architecture with geometry and transcends into mythical places that have intrigued men for ages. Places beyond our realm of life, of inner peace and bliss, of secrets and buried treasures that unfold with the prismatic union of shapes and colors. The intricately carved arch is the point of ingress and gives a glimpse of what lies beyond. The design sets the stage for light and shadow to weave a dramatic scene that entices the viewer to step closer and be teleported to mesmerizing dimensions. The artwork is titled 'Two to Tango', an apt idiom leaving the meaning open to interpretation. It is made with 43 layers of paper and has a palette of 28 vivid colors. It will be an exquisite gem for your personal space and be cherished for a long time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Art Process: A thorough study of forms is done before creating an intricate framework that seamlessly fuses architecture and geometry. The design is broken down into levels and filled with a complementing color palette. Placing the right color on the right level highlights certain elements that create hypnotizing patterns. An accurate cutting is done using a mix of machine and hand cuts for getting the best of both worlds. The final assembly turns the 2D design into a 3D structure under the play of light and shadow. A high level of precision is required as small errors lead to entire redoes. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Please Note: • Limited Edition of 4 • Certificate of Authenticity will be provided with the artwork. • The frames shown in the images are for representational purpose only. The artwork comes unframed. • Avoid keeping the paper artwork in harsh sunlight. • Avoid keeping the artwork in a damp area.

Hi! I am Zubin Jhaveri, a Mumbai based paper sculptor and designer. After graduating from art college, I set out on a journey of self discovery and expression. My paper sculptures was born out of this pursuit of meaning, to make art that breaks the barrier between dimensions and transports the viewer to a mesmerizing space. As an artist, I love to experiment and keep adding to my skill set. I started with making photo-realistic portraits and scale models then took up designing 3D puzzles and paper sculptures. What they all have in common is intricacy. I have experimented with different mediums over the years but paper remains the mainstay for expressing my views. Paper modeling was a childhood hobby that eventually became a full time passion. I enjoy taking a forgotten subject and adding my perspective to bring out different facets of it. Exploring a topic from different angles is the reason most of my work is in series. I usually spend a year on a project and strive to make it more intricate and colorful than the last. For the last two years I have been involved in my longest projects yet, namely ‘Spectral Matrix’ and ‘Transcendence’. You can check out my art portfolio on at
