‘Taijitu’, or more commonly known as ‘Yin Yang’, a concept of duality forming a whole. The ‘Yin Yang’ is beautifully illustrated in Tao Te Ching as: “When people see things as beautiful, ugliness is created. When people see things as good, evil is created. Being and non-being produce each other. Difficult and easy complement each other. Long and short define each other. High and low oppose each other. Fore and aft follow each other.” This piece was originally inspired by the above and from seeing a client who was suffering from Multiple Sclerosis. Despite being wheelchair bound, and needing assistance with all daily task, what may seem like a nightmare for most of us, this person never complained and saw the beauty in every moment. I wanted to create a piece which shows exactly that, an incomplete beautiful side and an incomplete bland or ugly side. A side made with hardship and a side made from ease. Yet, on either side, there is a reflection of the other. A piece to show, the good in the bad and bad in the good.

As an immigrant from India, my journey to the UK has profoundly shaped my artistic and entrepreneurial path. Fascinated by geometric patterns from a young age, my passion deepened during my architecture studies. Inspired by the intricate designs of Islamic architecture, I began creating art that fuses Mandalas, Nature, and Architecture. My art was born out of a desire to share these culturally rich and meticulously crafted pieces, celebrating the harmony of my heritage and my new home. My personal and cultural identity is the cornerstone of my artistic expression and the foundation of my art. Growing up in India, I was immersed in vibrant colors, intricate patterns, and rich traditions, which deeply influenced my aesthetic sensibilities. My immigration to the UK introduced me to a world of architectural marvels and cultural diversity, enriching my creative vision. The items I create blend these influences, drawing inspiration from Islamic art and architecture. The geometric patterns and arabesque motifs I use symbolize unity, harmony, and infinite creation. Each piece is a dialogue between my Indian roots and my experiences in the UK, reflecting my journey and the blending of cultures. Through intricate layers and thoughtful craftsmanship, my work celebrates cultural synthesis.
