“Talvolta accade” is a conceptual work where I worked on the contrast between black and white. Sabrina Jaider Camerlengo lives and creates in Verona, Italy. Since she was a child her creativity and her passion for colors brought her close to painting and afterwards to the world of ceramics. “I’m constantly thinking how to plan and how to develop creative ideas. Creating for me is a real necessity”. In addition to a degree in Political Science, she has attended over the years painting and ceramic courses and, in her twenties, she spent a period of two years of training in a painting studio in Verona. A few years ago, she came in contact with the technique of mosaics developing another deep artistic passion; she attended a three-year mosaic course at the school of art P. Brenzoni in Verona, where she learned the traditional roman direct mosaic technique. As a result she started a personal mosaic journey creating a contemporary language, customizing the shape and the courses of the tiles, choosing scraps of marble and stone, and making ceramic and clay tiles. Her abstract works present geometric shapes and free textures that express the artist’s own feelings, sensations and experiences. Italian landscapes like the Tuscan countryside, the Mediterranean islands and the brick roofs of the Italian villages are further sources of inspiration that become abstract mosaics once they meet the artist’s own sensibility.
