About The Artwork
I named this sculpture "The Ascent". The sculpture is supposed to represent consciousness ascending through mercury-like waters of purgatory into a higher plain of existence. I think conceptually I was inspired by the works of Salvador Dali, M.C. Escher and H.R. Geiger.
