ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This sculpture is the first of my Eroded Man Series - The Eroded King no.1 Material: Douglas Fir The piece of wood I used was hand picked and hand carved with the use of my carving axe and knife. I hand sanded this piece then soaked it in stain. It has a matter finish and because the wood has its knots and imperfections it gives the piece a very natural look to it. This piece represent the erosion or entropy humanity experiences through out time. Even as powerful a person can feel they are still made of matter and will soon erode. The ego feels otherwise and wants to live forever and conquer...
