About The Artwork

THE GODFATHER of the wedding - male figure made of wood in the manner of theatrical dolls, puppets, marionettes, but larger. The head, arms and feet are assembled with screws, washers and nuts, so they can change position. He has a burgundy red suit with a black stripe and flower pattern, and a bowler hat on his head. He also has the two-color shoes-black and red, and the wacky socks. THE GODFATHER is part of a conceptual exhibition, nominated THE WEDDING. The whole group includes The Couple, The godparents, a gypsy orchestra, the guests - sitting around a table and already drunk, the families and relatives of the bride and groom and a few little angels.

My name is Mara, it's from Mariela :) 1967, June 26 - Born in Sofia, Bulgaria. I live and work in the capital of Bulgaria - Sofia. I like to experiment with techniques and materials. I love wood, metal and old things. That's why I often use them in my work. In the works that require more cunning, my husband helps me ... until sometimes we do things together and we have several mutual works. Even on twitter we have a common profile - for both :)
