ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The Portrait of Three. Trinity. Artwork by Alexander Chichkin, famous Moscow artist, member of Russian Artists Union and alumni of The Surikov Art Institute, Leo Kerbel's workshop. The Sculpture is a portrait of the author's family. It reflects on the trinity: a father, a mother and a child. Likewise in Euclidean geometry three non-collinear points determine a plane. In Christianity the unity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. About material. Jet is a geological material considered to be a minor gemstone. It is originally a wood product called lignite, that has changed under extreme heat and pressure by geological processes.
