Facing the challenges of the world leaves no person unmarked, without scars or scratches. Some of these wounds are visible and apparent, some of them concealed, camouflaged even. It takes an open heart to overcome the struggles of life, to survive and to blossom. Embrace ones faith and turn every day in the best day of ones life. Open hearted people inspire and energize us, they get energy by giving energy, they are as close as one can get to immortality. In our hearts they will live for ever. I created this as a feminine figure because I do find that most women are not only open hearted under almost any circumstances, they are also strong, resilient and tough. They are not untouchable, they can be fragile and vulnerable, but they will not break or give up. And they share that with the people they love. the statue is created out of one solid piece of Arrabbiato marble from Tuscany. The stand in the photo is 30cm high and can be dark grey granite or marble (details are negotiable).

Graphic designer and advertising and signing professional. I usually work with limestone, marble and bronze although I also divert myself with drawing and painting, linoprinting and ceramics. For my inspiration I look at all the beauty that surrounds me, generally female beauty and translate that into my sculptures. What would men be without women and female beauty? My challenge is to visualize or at least acknowledge the relevancy of that question. I sign my sculptures with RGN59 or REIGN59, reign is an anagram of the first letters of my full name.
