M. Cristina Gómez García is a Barcelona-based artist, sculptor, and architect working under the name Cristina2g, whose practice explores the profound relationship between matter, void, and light. The form emerges from a dialogue where light, passing through the interior, reveals the invisible. Through biomorphic stoneware forms, her sculptures inhabit an intermediate territory between the vegetal, the animal, and the human. The surfaces evoke the natural erosion of rock, placing the work at an encounter between the organic and the inorganic. This dialogue between organic flow and geometric carving creates a spatial tension that invites the viewer to explore the interior. Her process is one of discovery through removal: she sculpts the void into the matter, allowing emptiness to become a generative force that defines the work’s internal architecture. Having lived in Valencia and Copenhagen, she has been based in Barcelona since 2002, actively participating in the cultural scene as President of A-FAD (the Association of Artists and Craftsmen within the FAD—Barcelona’s historic institution for the Promotion of Arts and Design). Her work has received international recognition in Denmark, Japan, and Spain, with a presence in spaces such as Kunsthal Charlottenborg in Copenhagen, the DHub (Design Museum) in Barcelona, and CONTEMPORANIA Barcelona High Craftsmanship. She has been nominated for the prestigious ArtsFAD Awards, the FAD Awards for Architecture and Interior Design, and the Saloni Interior Architecture Awards, among others.
