About The Artwork
Thunderhead was inspired by the large and amazing cloud formations that occur in the Alberta summer when atmospheric conditions are right. The general shape was influenced by a photograph of one of the huge accumulating clouds that contributed to the "100 year" flood of Calgary in 2013. It is firmly bolted to a wood(MDF) base with a spacer to give the illusion of weightlessness. The base measures 30'x24"x24" for a total height of 69".
