Born in Jingdezhen, the porcelain capital of China, Lingzhi Wu began her artistic journey by mastering traditional ceramic techniques under her father's guidance. Her exploration continued as she delved into design and art theory, earning a master's degree from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts and later obtaining a Ph.D. from the Arts & Design Academy of Tsinghua University. Her artistic journey extended globally, with research in Murano, Italy, as a visiting scholar and participation in glass-centric workshops across the United States. Lingzhi's experiences in China, Italy, and the U.S.A. fueled her passion for glass art, solidifying her lifelong dream of becoming an independent glass artist. In her studio, Lingzhi Wu thrives on experimentation, pushing the boundaries of glass and other materials to reveal their inherent beauty. Not limited to cast glass sculpture but also involving fused glass panels and mixed media, her work is a testament to the captivating dance of light, color, space, time, and unexpected moments in our lives. By seamlessly combining diverse materials, she seeks to enrich and extend the realm of self-interpretation. Lingzhi Wu's artistic endeavors extend beyond the physical realm into the virtual. In her digital art, she employs glass textures and other material textures to interpret the allure of nature and wildlife, aiming to resonate with the human experience. Her digital art invites viewers to immerse themselves in the healing power of her creations, fostering a connection between art and the inner voice.
