Unconscious Gravity is a part of my latest sculpture cycle. It’s representing a lap top hit by a virus so heavily that it has changed it’s form. I am getting the computer as an archetype of our time and an aspect of our society. The new technologies make us so dependent that sometimes we are not able to see our self’s from a far. This distorted lap top is actually the soul of the contemporary man, unconscious for the fact that our physical world is based on a gravity which is in force only for the reality we’re aware of. The powerless we experience when there’s no internet signal is nothing to compare with the inability to answer the question, what the world would be based on a different gravity with different laws of emotions and soul regularity. But very often we’re more busy to update our computer devices than seeking a path towards our unconscious essence. May be this is the way, I just want the spectator to have a platform for his own imagination.

My focus is mainly on sculpture in wood. While working with it the aim is to present unusual for the reality objects, with strange presence which evoking amazement. That includes transformation of the form to surreal level, implementing colours and structures. To capture a unique moment or action (like leaking liquid or underwater bubbles) is another of the problems contained in my sculptures. I reckon the wood is the most unique sculpture material, the fact it has been something alive and later transformed into a piece of art reminds of reincarnation. Physically I like the touch of wood, it gives me a full control of the process and this where I feel absolutely free to express myself. The styles and approaching in my works vary from the experience of the classic woodcarving to the modern cleared form. Whatever I do, the figurative and the recognizable is an imperative, I enjoy seeing the impact of my works and their dominance over the space they are placed.
