ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Venetian Carnival was inspired by the paintings and serigraphs of Roy Fairchild Woodard. I've taken his palette and love of lush pattern and interpreted it as an abstract bead mosaic on a glass vase. This contemporary piece is a celebration of a lavish, bygone era with metallics with antique patinas, browns, vellum, terra cotta,verdigris, and ochres. This piece was created using a combination of beadweaving and bead mosaic techniques.
