About The Artwork
WAR MAPS design came about as a reflection on global war events. This vase made with contrasting shades of colored porcelain and each have a unique gold accent on the exterior. Interior is covered with clear glossy glaze while the exterior remains an unglazed matte porcelain clay body. Contrasting colors represent warring sides that tussle for dominance. Torn character of edges and where the colors meet represent the frontline. Gold spilled accent represent precious innocent lives wasted during the conflict. Vase can be filled with water up to 3”, that is more than enough to feed the flower. Cut-out design offers new possibilities for floral arrangements. Evgeniya Plotnikova of EVG.WORKS is a ceramic artist and a practicing architect. Born and raised in Siberia, she has lived in Chicago, New York and currently resides in Seattle. Her journey in ceramics started in a Brooklyn clay studio with the interest of releasing a creative energy and exploring a fascination with the material.
