Born in Yorkshire in 1947. At the age of 3 my family and I moved to Singapore. Later I visited Hong Kong for three years. I love Chinese culture, customs and landscape. Later still moved to Germany and spent three years there, travelling and studying. The age of 'Rock n' Roll' the 'Berlin Wall' and consumer society life was absorbed and proved to be an exciting 'playground.' Travel has greatly influenced my outlook, interests, style and techniques. My background includes experience of furniture making, engineering and technology. My early working life included building timber houses in Denmark. As a young adult I went to university and became a teacher of Art, Technology and Art History teaching at Clifton College Bristol, Shebbear College Devon and the Royal School Bath where Was appointed head of Art, Design and Technology. Being interested in community projects I became Co founder of the St Pauls Carnival Bristol and the Sofa Project. Recently I spent two years working in my studio in Portugal, the end product of which is a body of work consisting of 60 pieces linked through interacting with, and being closely involved with the local Urban environment and culture. The often rugged landscape of Portugal was very stimulating as is the culture. My work was very well received there and exhibitions were visited by locals and many visitors to Portugal who chose to live in the warm climate of southern Europe. Currently I live and work in Dursley England. In addition to developing my creativity I founded a local Art History group. Just completed a large community project which is being exhibited at a local church here in Dursley specially for Easter. It's called 'I have seen the Lord.'
