mother's lamentation This work expresses the emotional state of a woman who lost her son to cancer, this is a situation that thousands of women have gone through in the world, honoring these women, for their strength and courage to fight until the end for the sons and daughters who are diagnosed with cancer. This work is carved by hand and to give a traditional and primitive look, the wood used is black wood, known as Mpingo (Dalbergia melanoxylon), an exotic and rare wood, it has a high shine, easy to work with and is a precious wood. Chisels, sandpaper are one of the instruments used for sculpting. It serves as a piece of interior decoration, gives a differential in the place that is placed by its beauty and unique facial expression.

Aeidy Kassimba, a Mozambican artist born in 1976, is a talented multidisciplinary artist known for his works in abstract art, sculpture, and photography. In recent years, he has risen to prominence, with his pieces being sold in the United States, Europe, and Asia. Despite limited exposure, he collaborates with renowned interior decorators both inside and outside of Mozambique. His unique style, blending contemporary and traditional elements, has garnered a loyal base of collectors and collaborators. A self-taught artist by nature, Aeidy Kassimba was heavily influenced by his family. His brother, a celebrated portrait artist, and his father, an avid collector of African art paintings and sculptures, instilled in him an appreciation for art from a young age. He initially embarked on a career in art commerce but was ultimately drawn to the world of artistic creation. This connection between art trading and artistic expression proved to be a critical asset in his swift ascent. He currently resides in Chimoio, where he has been developing his works, organizing exhibitions, and engaging in social services, demonstrating a profound commitment to both his art and his community.
