About The Artwork
Backbone series is the transformation of man into a structure of industrial products of wide consumption. Human figures formed from rusty iron, metal of antique origin left in a state of detoriation which allows the formation of a mutant. These figures are formed by hyper-developed vertebral column, suspended from the soil, composed of products to cure, sanitize and beautify the human body, like medicines, vitamins, deoderants, toothpastes, mascara and lipsticks. It is stated an alterity not in accordance with human nature.
