ABOUT THE ARTWORK

"Yet it Doesn't Move" (1989) is a captivating piece from Dionisio Cimarelli's surrealist period. Sculpted in exquisite Carrara marble, this abstract form invites viewers into a world of imagination and contemplation. The smooth, flowing lines contrast with the raw, unpolished base, symbolizing the tension between movement and stillness, creation and inertia. Inspired by the fluidity and potential energy within solid forms, Cimarelli seeks to evoke a sense of curiosity and introspection in the viewer. This sculpture embodies the paradox of stasis in movement, encouraging a deeper reflection on the nature of existence and perception.
