I studied sculpture with Maestro Giancarlo Marchese, Maestro Giampiero Moioli and Maestro Francesco Poli. During and after my academic studies, I took part in some collective art exhibitions, but I have always had the feeling that my research and artistic spirit needed more time and space to reach a level of self-consciousness that to me was more acceptable. I am actually convinced that sculpture and my personal way of conceiving the process of artistic creation require longer periods of time than those the frantic rhythm of our contemporary world would suggest. Therefore, from 2005 to 2010 I discontinued any public activity, though engaging in an intense and profitable activity in my atelier, as well as a whole lot of other tasks and projects. By nature and for personal need, I have always combined my artistic activity with my work as an educator, and - in particular - I have worked for a good 13 years in the streets with homeless people suffering from serious psychiatric dysfunctions. Through this experience I have also had the opportunity to get closer to city streets and share a very particular perspective; as a result, my artworks - that were initially more tied to an informal iconography - have begun to partially absorb the elements of street art, which to me is the most authentic form of art of the last century. In 2011, I have resumed entering competitions, taking part in art shows, as well as talking with other artists and people in the art sector, while being fully conscious that I do not have any certain knowledge but many good questions, a profound knowledge of my limits and potential, and, above all, a long way to go.
