sidereal Sculpture

The title of this series, "Sidereal" comes from "sidereal time." Sidereal Time is used in astronomy to determine the location of particular stars by measuring the rotation of the earth compared to a fixed point-- stars. I understand this system of measure to be comparable to ones process of construction under restraint. One has to move in relation to a fixed point. These works came about when I was asked to make a new iteration of an earlier work "it wasn't me..." none of those works would fit through a single door. I had to travel and had a strict timeline to produce the sidereal works. The studio I was working in and the exhibition space both had single doors. Anyway, I had been making drawings of similarly collapsed objects.
