Painting has been a best friend of mine since childhood, providing me with a way to escape and capture the world around me. At age fifteen, I suffered a traumatic brain injury (TBI) that changed my life forever. Despite my new limitations, painting remained a source of comfort and a way to travel to new and familiar places from home. As a recent graduate of PNCA with a BFA in painting, I am now based just outside of Portland, OR and strive to capture the essence of nature and moments of escape through my work. I enjoy using a variety of materials, including acrylic, oil, chalk pastels, and watercolors, and over the past two years, I have added glow-in-the-dark pigments to my landscapes to allow the escape to continue even when the lights go out. My hope is that my audiences can also find comfort and a connection with the world through my art, no matter where they are.
