Born in Cagliari, Italy in 1965. Diana categorizes herself as a surrealistic-abstract and futuristic artist. Her influence come from primitive African art as well as pre-Columbian art and artifacts.
Diana grew up around classic western art. She is the daughter of Francesco Marongiu, painter and sculptor, who influenced her since the early years.
Diana begun painting "murals" and graffiti style designs on the kitchen walls of her parents house at age 10. Her work is filled with detailed elements, hidden messages and symbolism.
Diana studied design at the Art Institute International and later earned BA in Theatre Technology -specializing in costume and scenery design- at Point Park University in Pittsburgh.
She received formal education in design and architectural interiors and informally trained in the fine and applied arts using experimentation with unusual media.
Diana art is inspired by life events, global trends, politics and the human condition. Her work reflects her philosophy and personal background with surrealistic overlaps of the subconsious mind. All this is done to create a self healing experience.
Early work represent humans in a post-apocalypse world, while contemporany work focuses more on technology, women & womanhood.
