Ramil Khasanshin

I was born in a country of bright sun, turquoise blue skies and marvelous combinations of colors in nature. My homeland is Uzbekistan. The customs and traditions of life that prevailed on the Great Silk Road for centuries, colorful bazaars and virgin mountaintops all helped predetermine me as an artist and photographer.
My studies art school afforded me opportunity to train very talented professionals. I developed professional composition skills as well as foundational understanding of harmony of color and light.
I continued my education at the Institute of Art where I sharpened my skills and where I participated in the creative life of country. I became one of the few young members of the Union of Art in the former USSR. I participated in youth and student art exhibitions and photo competitions, winning several awards. After completing my studies, I combined my art with an educational career at the Art College where I taught talented young students.
The year 2001 was paramount year for my personal and creative life. I visited New London, Connecticut by invitation of The Griffis Art Center international and participated in the Artist-In-Residence program, which inspired my move to the USA, the country I now call My New Home.
