My current series, “Emergence” places the human figure isolated, surrounded only by water. The sea is a metaphor for the life that envelops every one of us, with all its beauty and unpredictability. An element which can be at the same time nourishing and treacherous, life giving or deadly.
In these paintings, the characters emerge from the water with a sense of renewal and rebirth. They stand contemplative, and observe in the horizon the impending waves that bring the unknown.
