Artsanam Bali

The name Artsanam carries a personal meaning when read backward it becomes Manastra taken from my name Nyoman Juliastra the artist behind the works you see here.

I paint to capture moments that cannot be put into words. Growing up surrounded by the beauty of Bali. I have always been inspired by its warm sunlight vibrant rice fields and the peaceful rhythm of everyday life. My impressionist style allows me to translate those feelings onto canvas turning fleeting moments into colors and textures. Every brushstroke reflects my gratitude and admiration for the beauty of nature. I enjoy working with oil on canvas and paper as these mediums give me the freedom to express both softness and depth in every piece I create.

Beyond painting, I channel my creativity into jewelry design crafting custom pieces that embody the same attention to detail emotion and artistry found in my paintings. For me both painting and jewelry design are ways to preserve beauty and transform it into something timeless.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts from Udayana University in 1994, a place where I explored a wide range of artistic techniques and refined my creative voice. My love for painting, however, began long before my formal education. As a child in elementary school, I spent countless hours sketching and learning from books, fascinated by the works of masters like Claude Monet, Antonio Blanco, and Awiki. Their art continues to inspire my impressionist style and my deep appreciation for capturing the beauty of nature on canvas.

In 1989, I presented my early impressionist works in a group exhibition at the Bali Museum, a milestone that marked the true beginning of my artistic journey. It was my first experience sharing personal expressions with a wider audience, an inspiring moment that strengthened my passion for capturing the beauty of Bali and translating it onto canvas.
