Phil F Dobson

Born 1949, Derby. Dad a bin man, mum (Banana Lil) worked selling fruit on Derby market. Passed 13 plus exam and went to Joseph Wright School of Art, Derby, was expelled at 16 for wearing skin tight imitation crocodile skin trousers and not the regulation grey flannel. Worked for three years as a sign writer. Did three year graphics course ant Derby College of Art, left in 1970. Moved to swinging London in 1971 and have been working as an illustrator ever since.
