The paintings I make are a response to everyday experiences. A collection of images describing indistinct yet specific moments.

I get distracted easily by unremarkable objects.

I have a fascination with the movement of water, the distortion of the reflective surface.

I become obsessed with a grainy photo of something far from beautiful.

I’m a collector of tiny details.

I feel things in hightened colour and I'm captivated by light in all its many forms.

The paint itself becomes a system to process and manipulate my ideas, working in multiple layers and adding or changing elements as the painting unfolds. I work on paintings slowly over time, often discarding the original image and letting the layers of paint construct their own significance.
