Daisy Gold, born 1966 in Munich, Germany, worked since her graduation at the academy for graphic arts as graphic designer and illustrator. She lives in Vienna since 1989 and is self-employed since 1991. In the beginning she was occupied in the sections advertising, design and architecture, then she started to work for children’s book illustrations and natural-scientific portrayals, especially biology. Since 2011 she devoted herself to oil paintings.
In the year 2013 the artist founded together with the photographer Manfredo Weihs their own studio “Coolpool”. They occupy themselves with the combination of photography and painting. Out of their cooperation many exhibitions (at home and abroad) as well as a stunning catalogue of their works were produced.
The inspiration comes out of her daily life, no matter if it is a conversation, a book, a movie or a situation that she observes. Often, the focus is on the little details, that are spontaneously or planned, and sometimes both in combination.
Life is multi-faceted, as well as the themes and works that Daisy Gold put together.
