Jolijn Akkerman

My name is Jolijn Akkerman, an abstract artist, and I invite you into my world of creativity.

My work is characterized by a luxurious appearance with a modern twist. I create my pieces using alcohol ink on canvas or wooden panels, layering to achieve rich texture and depth. This technique gives my artwork a unique dynamism, allowing each layer to come to life depending on the light and the viewer’s perspective.

A distinctive feature of my work is the touch of gold that I subtly incorporate. These golden accents enhance the luxurious feel and add an extra dimension to the ink’s layering. They draw the eye to specific details and give the whole piece a sparkling, refined finish.

In terms of color, my collection offers a wide range: from vibrant, expressive works full of energy to calm, neutral pieces that exude serenity and balance. This versatility makes my art suitable for diverse interiors and tastes.

I draw my inspiration from nature, particularly the cycle of the seasons and feminine energy and strength. This theme continues to fascinate me, and I strive to capture it in an abstract way in my artwork.
