Macy Awad

I was born in West Virginia in the US however I have lived in Canada for the last thirty years and I am a Canadian Citizen. I have been a painter all of my life. I teach painting and drawing and have done surface design as well as graphic and product design.

I am particularly interested movement and the emotional communication of that movement. I love color and look to artists like Matisse and Miro who seemed to have such a wonderful intuitive grasp on color. However composition is the aspect of my work that I believe makes it unique, whether I am using figures or objects or landscape, I hope you enjoy looking at my pictures.

I began my education at the Cincinnati Academy of Art, and attended eastern Michigan University (fine arts) and Graduated from the Ontario College of Art and Design in 1976, I have received several grants and scholarships and have shown internationally. Currently I have a Studio in The Distillery District of Toronto, were I work and exhibit.,
